Rehabilitation Services

After surgery or illness, resuming basic activities can be challenging.  Working with physicians to create customized treatment plans, a highly skilled team of physical, occupational, and speech therapists will help maximize a patient’s mobility through comprehensive, hands-on care.  Coaching, self-care information, and healing exercises are designed to restore function, speed recovery, and improve confidence.

Physical Therapy

Physical therapy is part of the Connecticut VNA Partners extensive rehabilitative healthcare service.  It can help improve the overall quality of life for patients with fractures, joint replacements, amputations, arthritis, and osteoporosis.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy is personalized treatment aimed at helping patients restore their independence.  For patients who have suffered a heart attack, stroke, or a chronic condition such as arthritis, occupational therapy may be recommended.

Occupational therapists are trained to teach patients how to use adaptive equipment and techniques to help them maintain safety and independence at home.

Speech Therapy

For patients experiencing difficulty swallowing (often associated with aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia of speech, dysphagia or dementia), a speech therapist can teach strategies toward retaining and improving speech skills.
